Sophia Zarateis a first-generation Mexican American who was born and raised in the border town of Laredo, TX. She relocated to New York City in 2016 to complete her undergraduate B.A. degree in Accounting at Queens College (CUNY). She is a dynamic professional with a broad range of experience in Corporate America, spanning Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and Social Media.Upon realizing the lack of Latinx representation in Corporate America, she took on content creation as a way to find a community that she could relate to in both professional and cultural aspects. Her vision for Corporate Pero Latinos started through social media, where she shared humorous and engaging content that resonated with a growing audience. What she thought would be a small group of friends, became a community through which members have found friendship, as well as professional opportunities.She has since leveraged her platform to promote the values of this organization and inspire others to give back to the community. Her personal mission is to demonstrate that working in Corporate America does not have to be synonymous with cultural alienation. She is currently acting as President & Chief Executive Officer for Corporate Pero Latinos.
