Julianna Walsh

Founder of LeadHerself

Julianna overachieved in school and college and went on to get a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology.  As a graduate student, she researched gender differences in leadership, studying how effectiveness was perceived around the world while internally struggling with the unfairness of the “think manager, think male” paradigm.

She joined the working world as a leadership consultant building and delivering assessment and development programs for global corporations, secretly dissatisfied with the reality of gender inequality in senior leadership. Inspired by the need to expand her reach, she branched off to join the leadership team of a tech startup, discovering the satisfaction of building intuitive tools that make science more accessible.

2023 was a turning point. With a renewed passion for leadership and a growing urge to help close the gender in leadership gap, she finally decided it was time to take the lead, herself.

Julianna is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology and a Certified Business Psychologist with The Association for Business Psychology. She lives in London with her husband, Darren, and dog, Pete. She’s currently fighting the itch to get an MBA and trying to be okay with not knowing everything.
