GG Mirvis is the Co-founder and CEO of Desolas Mezcal. Gravitating toward the fresher, subtle variations of mezcals with a more agave forward taste, she founded Desolas to showcase mezcal in a different light beyond the “smokey” stigma typically associated with the spirit. She partnered with a family of mezcaleros who have been in the industry for more than a century to create Desolas from the Salmiana Agave in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. From the second she took her first sip, GG knew she had to share this bright and earthy taste with the world. GG has been in the agave spirits industry for over a decade and is passionate about mezcal’s layered flavor profile, tradition and mystic. Founded in 2020 as a premium mezcal brand, Desolas is positioned to become the leading, non-smoky mezcal staple in the U.S.Prior to launching Desolas, GG founded a tequila coconut water brand TIQO in 2012 while still a college student. She found investors and partners all from her dorm room and successfully brought the product to market. She also later worked for Rémy Cointreau, a French spirits group, deepening her knowledge of every aspect of the industry. A Columbia University graduate and natural dot and people connector, GG currently resides in Miami, Fla. She can be found DJing in Miami and New York when not enthusiastically working toward evolving the category of mezcal in the U.S. to embrace a broader selection of agave taste profiles.
