Audrey Davis-Dunning specializes in traditional West African dance and has taught and performed at numerous dance studios, colleges, and universities. She has taught students of all ages and is known for her energetic and interactive teaching style. Audrey firmly believes that there is a dancer in all of us!
Audrey served as the Assistant Artistic Director of the Iwa Lewa Heritage Dance Ensemble founded by Yewande Kelley Johnson. Earlier in her career, she served as the Artistic Director of the Nia Dance Ensemble, a children’s dance troupe.
As a New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) teaching artist, Mrs. Davis-Dunning has conducted dance residencies at various schools in New Jersey. She has also taught at Rutgers University, Johnson & Johnson, and ADP.
Audrey has performed at the PNC Arts Center, Crossroads Theatre, the State Theatre, as well as countless weddings and cultural events. She has made television appearances on Channel 5 and Channel 9 with the Iwa Lewa Heritage Dance Ensemble.
Audrey takes great pride and joy in sharing the richness of African dance and culture. She has taught students from all around the globe including Germany, England, and China. She has a Master’s in African American Studies from Cornell University.
