Amanda DuBois is the founder and managing partner of DuBois Levias Law Group, a woman-owned boutique family law firm with locations in Seattle and in Bellevue-Redmond. Amanda is also the founder of Civil Survival Project, an organization that teaches policy advocacy skills to formerly incarcerated individuals as well as providing civil legal aid to individuals struggling with the consequences of incarceration and assisting them with reentry. Amanda stays engaged with Civil Survival Project as the board president. Amanda established and funds the Full Circle Scholarship at her alma mater, Seattle University School of Law, which provides tuition support for law students who have been directly impacted by the criminal legal system. As a result of the work she’s done to support the formerly incarcerated population in King County, Amanda was awarded the annual APEX Sally P. Savage Leadership in Philanthropy Award from the Washington State Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Foundation. Community engagement on behalf of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people is one of Amanda’s core values. In addition to Civil Survival, she serves on the following boards: * Vice president of the board of Purpose. Dignity. Action (PDA) in Seattle, which advocates for criminal legal system reform and develops alternatives that shift from a punishment paradigm to a system that supports individual and community health. * Board member of Freedom Education Project Puget Sound, which provides post-secondary education to women inside Washington Corrections Center for Women. She is also a member of the Seattle Chapter of the Women’s President’s Association. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Amanda was a high-risk labor and delivery nurse at University of Washington Medical Center and she combines her medical and legal knowledge as the author of the Camille Delaney mystery series, which addresses inequities in the legal system while offering a fast-paced reading experience one would expect from a good thriller. She is currently working on the third book in the series, which centers on mothers in prison and the importance of reuniting them with their children. For her literary efforts, Amanda was listed as one of Amazon’s Best Sellers for Medical Thrillers, was shortlisted for the Eric Hoffer Book Award Grand Prize, and was awarded the International Book Award for Fiction: Mystery/Suspense in 2023.
