Lionsgate recently unveiled its upcoming 2024 fall release, Alexandre Aja’s ‘Never Let Go’. This intriguing story revolves around a mother and her fraternal twins who have never ventured beyond their forested surroundings. Whenever they leave their cabin, they are tethered by a rope as they explore the eerie woods.
Halle Berry’s Experience
Halle Berry, who reunites with the studio that earned her a Best Actress Oscar for ‘Monster’s Ball’, described the environment as creepy and unlike anything she had ever experienced before. Berry, a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, embraced the challenges of the role, including learning how to skin a squirrel and eating raw frogs, as depicted in the film.
Instincts as a Mother
When asked by Lionsgate Motion Picture Chair Adam Fogelson about drawing on her instincts as a mother for the role, Berry responded, “This movie reminds me of how I would protect my children in this life. We often say I would take a bullet for my kids. Would you take a knife for your kids? What would you do to protect your children?”
Role as an Executive Producer
Discussing her role as an executive producer on the movie, Berry stated, “EP means you have a seat at the table. You’re no longer the dancing bear. You have some say in what’s being created.” ‘Never Let Go’ is set to release on Sept. 27, taking the slot initially intended for ‘Saw XI’, which has been moved to the following year.
