Tech influencer scrutinizes Humane's new AI Pin, igniting debates across social media platforms.

Marques Brownlee, a highly influential YouTube tech reviewer known as MKBHD,‍ recently gave a harsh critique of Humane‘s new AI Pin. The review, titled “The Worst Product I’ve Ever Reviewed… For Now,” ⁢has sparked a heated debate on social media platforms.

Humane’s AI Pin: A Product ⁣with Potential?

The Humane AI Pin is a small wearable computer that attaches ⁢to your shirt. Priced at $700, with a $24 monthly subscription, it ⁤is designed to perform daily tasks such as answering questions, making calls, and taking photos. It can even ⁤project an interactive screen onto the user’s palm.

In his review, Brownlee praised the device’s build⁢ and ⁣craftsmanship and expressed admiration for⁣ the⁣ concept of an AI assistant. He also commended the Humane team for their ‍innovative efforts. However, he criticized the device for being slow, often providing incorrect answers, having⁤ inconsistent battery life, and poor photo and video quality.

Reactions to Brownlee’s Review

Brownlee’s‌ review elicited strong reactions. Sam Sheffer, Humane’s head of new media,⁤ described the review as “honest” and “solid,” adding that “feedback is ⁤a gift”‌ and the company would “continue building.” However, others, like user Daniel Vassallo, criticized Brownlee’s review as ‌”distasteful” and “almost unethical,” given his significant influence. Vassallo argued that Brownlee’s reach could potentially harm a budding project.

Despite the controversy, some agreed⁢ with Brownlee’s critique, suggesting that the review could significantly impact⁣ Humane’s future. Alex Kehr, for instance, described the review as “devastating for the future of ‌Humane,” predicting that it could “eviscerate‌ sales.”
