In the upcoming G-20 meetings scheduled for June in Patna, the Bihar government plans to highlight the achievements of rural women entrepreneurs and the impact of the World Bank-backed village livelihood program, ‘Jeevika‘, as well as other socio-economic initiatives. The meetings will center around themes such as women and the future of work, upskilling of the women workforce in a tech-intensive environment, and promoting local entrepreneurs through the ‘one-district-one-product’ scheme.

Impact of ‘Jeevika’ and Women Empowerment

Officials will showcase how ‘Jeevika’ has revolutionized the lives of rural women and their families, enabling them to defy odds and become successful entrepreneurs through state government initiatives. The government also aims to present these programs as models for women’s empowerment in rural areas, garnering appreciation from various parts of the world.

Cultural Events and Showcasing Bihar’s Rich Heritage

The Bihar government has organized several cultural events, exhibitions, and sightseeing tours to display the state’s rich history and heritage to G-20 delegates. These events will include musical performances, archival photographs, live performances by traditional artists, and exhibitions featuring works by state artisans. Delegates will also have the opportunity to visit world heritage sites in Gaya and Rajgir, the Bihar Museum, and the Patna Sahib Gurudwara.

Success Stories and State Initiatives

During the two-day event, the Bihar government will highlight the success stories of women interested in joining the police force, their accomplishments in various fields, and the state’s soft power and diverse history. The G-20 events are part of India’s G-20 Presidency, which includes 19 countries and the European Union.
